4 reasons to study in Ealing
1. London life – on a smaller scale
Being a London suburb, studying in Ealing can offer you the best of both worlds. While you are only a short tube ride away from all the amazing things London has to offer, studying outside the city centre means that you won’t have to handle the less appealing parts on a regular basis.
From packed tubes to hordes of people hanging around the most popular landmarks, studying in Ealing can help you avoid some of Londoners’ biggest frustrations – hustle and bustle isn’t for everyone, but that doesn’t mean you should have to miss out on the opportunities the city can provide.
2. There's plenty of places to spend your free time
You might be surprised to hear that Ealing has plenty to keep you occupied in your spare time, despite being some way out of the city centre. Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre has a great selection of stores and places to grab a coffee or a quick bite to eat.
Love food? There’s lots of restaurants to choose from in the area – from Japanese and Thai through to Greek, Tunisian and traditional pub grub, something’s bound to take your fancy. For film fanatics, the Classic Cinema Club is not to be missed.
3. And great places to study
Ealing Central Library is actually located in the Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre, so what better than the prospect of a spot of retail therapy to motivate you in your studies? The library has tons of resources, Wi-Fi access, and even offers language courses.
If you prefer to study in the open air, there’s Ealing Common, Ealing Green and Walpole Park all within a few minutes of each other. If the weather isn’t looking so good, trying heading to Harris and Hoole or Artisan Coffee School (as long as you don’t mind a bit of background noise).
4. Transport links
Studying in Ealing, you won’t have any problems getting to central London, should you need to. Ealing Broadway is the starting point for the both the Central and District Lines, allowing you to travel into the city in half-an-hour or less (and they're frequent, so there's no need to run!). There’s also National Rail services – these can get you into Paddington in around 10 minutes.
Ealing Broadway is also set to get the Elizabeth line late next year – this will provide fast services reaching as far as Reading and Shenfield. Ealing is also well served by buses and easily reachable from Heathrow airport.
